Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How can I get a railside or second row tailgating space for the Spring races?
A: The Spring Steeplechase is a sold out event every year and railsides, second row and even infield tailgating spaces are in high demand. The turnover is very low because the same patrons renew them every year. Last year’s space holders currently reserve all railsides and second row tailgating spaces until March 1, 2008. On March 8th, all spaces that are not renewed will be sold in a lottery at the Aiken Steeplechase office. The only patrons who are eligible for the lottery are those who purchased a railside package at the 2007 Fall Steeplechase. There are no waiting lists. The ASA regrets that it is not able to accommodate all interested parties and recommends attending the Fall Steeplechase (October 25, 2008) where railsides are available.
Q:
What is available if all railsides and second rows are reserved until
March 1, 2008?
A: Tickets to the Guarantor Tent Party are available as well as
general admission and subscriber admission tickets. On March 3rd,
2008 a limited number of $25 infield parking passes will be sold on a first
come, first serve basis at the ASA office.
Q: What is the difference between the Guarantor, Subscriber, and General Admission Railsides?
A: Guarantor Railside Packages ($600) include a railside plus four tickets to the Guarantor Tent Party.
Subscriber Railside Packages ($200) include a railside and four admission tickets. If you own a Subscriber Railside you also have the option of purchasing up to three additional parking spaces behind your railside for your guests for $30 each. The Subscriber sections are cordoned off from the general admission ticket holders so the area is more private than General Admission Railside areas. Subscriber admission tickets are $15 versus the $10 General admission tickets.
General Admission Railside ($150) include a railside and three admission tickets.
Q: Can I buy parking at the gate on the day of the races?
A: No. Due to increased traffic problems, all parking at the Spring Steeplechase is reserved and must be purchased from the Aiken Steeplechase office prior to the races. There will be no off site general parking facilitated by the Aiken Steeplechase Association.
Q: If I have a parking space for fall do I have the same space automatically in the spring? And vice versa?
A: The spring race and the fall race are considered separate. Those guests that purchased a reserved parking space last spring are given the opportunity to purchase that same space the next spring. Guests that purchased a space for the fall race may renew that space next fall by the deadline.
Q:
Are Children admitted free of charge?
A: Children 6 and under are admitted free of charge when accompanied by an adult.
Q: Does the Aiken Steeplechase take credit cards?
A: Yes. Visa, MasterCard, and Discover/Novus.

Q: What time do the races start?
A: The first race on the card is scheduled for 1pm.
Q: Are the races ever cancelled?

Q: Is there a “Will Call”at the races?
A: No. Because of the location of the track and traffic on race day, all tickets must be picked up from the office by 4 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2008.
Q: What do people wear?
A: Afternoon dress is suggested for this event. Women guests at the
Guarantor Tent Party customarily wear summer/spring dresses and hats. Flat
heels are suggested. Men wear lightweight sport coats and ties. Shorts and
jeans are not appropriate for the Tent Party. Attire on the rails is
marginally more relaxed - we recommend a sportswear look for women and
khakis for men.
Dressing according to the weather is always a good rule of thumb.
